2019 National Convention Boasts Many Award Winners

At the 2019 National Convention held in Lancaster on August 7-11, the Annual Awards Banquet proved to be an exciting event, as 58 Scholarships were awards and the National Award winners were announced.

  • Outstanding Undergraduate - Daniel Statile (Delta Theta)
  • Outstanding Alumnus - Gary Van Schaften (Beta Lambda)

  • Outstanding Chapter - Delta Epsilon Chapter
  • Most Improved Chapter - Epsilon Zeta Chapter
  • Outstanding Alumni Club - North Jersey A.C.
  • Outstanding Alumni Association - Epsilon Gamma A.A.
  • Outstanding Community Service - Gamma Sigma Chapter

Convention News: Staten Island Alumni Club Chartered

On August 10, the Executive Committee of the National Council approved a charter for the Fraternity's 45th Alumni Club: The Staten Island Alumni Club. The Club had some 70+ charter members and was represented at the Convention in vast numbers to receive its Charter.

2019 Council: Beta Phi Rechartered; Cusato-Flagiello Elected to Second Terms

The 2019 Annual Meeting of the National Council was held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 on the campus of Pace University in Pleasantville, New York, home of the members of our Gamma Iota Chapter. Highlights of the meeting included: the re-election of Todd Cusato and Salvatore Flagiello as National President and Vice President respectively; the re-chartering of our Beta Phi Chapter; adoption of the 2019-20 budget; the election of Jonathan Cangin (Epsilon Zeta '17) as Chairman of the Undergraduate Coordinating Committee and the re-election of Michael Young (Beta Eta '85) as the Chairman of the Alumni Coordinating Committee. The year 2019 is a big year for Chapter Anniversaries in Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity. Of note, we have three active chapters (Chi, Psi and Beta Beta) all celebrating their 90th Anniversaries. We have one active chapter this year that reaches its silver anniversary. In this 105th year of Alpha Phi Delta, the following Chapter Anniversaries have been reached:
90th Anniversary (Chartered 1929)
March 1 - Chi - Pennsylvania State University
March 17 - Psi - Duquesne University
December 28 - Beta Beta - Manhattan College

70th Anniversary (Chartered 1949)
April 7 - Beta Iota - Utica College
November 1 - Beta Lambda - St. Francis University
