Alpha Phi Delta Loses Carl Izzo, eldest member of the only four generation family in Alpha Phi Delta, on Monday morning, July 17, 2017. Carl was a retired fellow scientist for Westinghouse Research Labs and also worked post retirement as an Industrial Paint Consultant. He served in the Air Force. He was a member of Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville, and an active 4th degree knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1480, serving as past Grand Knight. He was also active with the PA Railroad Technical and Historical Society and an avid model railroader. He also was a choir director at a few churches in Western Pennsylvania and provided piano lessons to countless students.
Carl pledged the PSI chapter at Duquesne University in 1951. Carl was awarded our Adam DiVincenzo Award for Community Service by the Pittsburgh Alumni Club in 2014. Carl was the the 2nd generation of 4 generations of Alpha Phi Delta brothers within the Izzo family as his father, his son and 2 grandsons are fraternity brothers. A number of years ago Carl established and endowed the Izzo Family Scholarship with the Alpha Phi Delta Foundation. Carl was a fine brother and he will be missed by us all. About Donating to the Carl Izzo Scholarship
A Scholarship in Carl Izzo's name will be administered by the Alpha Phi Delta Foundation. This scholarship will be awarded annually to members of Alpha Phi Delta and their families.
