Ed Magliocco
Memorial Alumni Emeritus Fund
Beta Delta '50 January 10, 1931 - May 6, 2020

Each year at the Alpha Phi Delta Foundation sponsors a luncheon at the Annual Summer Convention for all brothers who have reached 50 years in Alpha Phi Delta. The Delaware Valley Alumni Club is starting a fund to sponsor this luncheon in memory of Ed.
About Ed
Edward Magliocco was born on January 10, 1931 to Sam and Angelina Magliocco in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 1313 Wharton Street. He was initiated into our Beta Delta Chapter at Temple University in spring semester of 1950. An active student; in addition to Alpha Phi Delta, he participated in Baseball and Basketball. He graduated from Temple in 1952, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. He did his graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and at the State University of New York at Oswego, also in the field of education.
While an undergraduate brother, Brother Magliocco was very active within Beta Delta Chapter (Temple University), and, notably, served as the Pledgemaster. As an alumnus, he was a longtime, and very active, member of the Delaware Valley Alumni Club (formerly, the Philadelphia Alumni Club). In the Alumni Club, he has served in many different roles over the year; among them: Secretary, Treasurer, and President. On the District and National level, Brother Magliocco served the Fraternity as Delaware Valley District Governor from 1994-1996), and then, as Executive Vice President from 1996-1998.

Ed's Last Alpha Phi Delta Lunch
Brother Ed Magliocco passed during the COVID Pandemic of 2020. That did not deter his DVAC brothers who still held a socially-distant memorial for Ed. Coordinated by brother George Casadonte, who brought hoagies and refreshments for all to give Ed a proper send-off. On March 14, brothers George Casadonte, Mario DiGiuseppe, Bob DeSipio, Jerry Votta, Sam Galasso, Pau Borriello (who brought flowers), Pete Sines, Joe Porto (who brought water color done by Eddie), Ed Magliocco Jr, and Tony Campione attended the burial to say their final good-byes and have their last lunch with Ed.
About the Fund
Once the fund reached $5,000, Ed will become a posthumous member of the Omega Society in perpetuity. When this fund is fully funded at the $10,000 level, Ed will become the exclusive sponsor of the Annual Alumni Emeritus Luncheon for 4 years, and a co-sponsor thereafter.
