APD Cares: Helping Brothers Impacted by COVID19
We hope that you are safe and healthy during this unsettling time. The coronavirus has filled us all with anxiety and Alpha Phi Delta is concerned about you and your family. How wonderful it will be when we are able to renew our fraternal camaraderie in person without fear. Until then we must continue to care for one another with calls and emails and video chats.
Our Alpha Phi Delta family has been stricken by the virus.
Our Alpha Phi Delta family has been stricken by the virus.
We are hopeful that this will be the extent of the bad news but fear otherwise. Where we have an obituary, it can be viewed by clicking on the brother's name above. An * indicates we do not have an obituary link.
Two years ago, the Foundation created the APD Cares Fund to help brothers through declared emergencies like this. In keeping with our mission, APD Cares is helping brothers with expenses resulting from a virus-related death. With your help and as long as resources allow, we plan to send each family of a Brother who dies of the virus $1,000, or any Brother who loses a direct family member (parent, spouse or child) $500 to help with their expenses. This is beginning immediately with the brothers mentioned above. While our resources are limited, each grant will be a tangible reflection of the fraternal spirit in action.
As a gentle request, please consider a donation to this campaign. Any amount will be gratefully accepted and will truly help a brother in need. If you are able, please consider becoming a Cornerstone member by donating $500. See below for ways to donate to this cause.
The fact that we are reaching out during this tough time in the face of challenging conditions highlights the importance of our cause. Brother Sal Rabasco, Beta Pi ‘87, is adding to this fund with a $12,500 contribution. Please join us in following Sal's lead. Your donation will help brothers and their families through this and other future disasters.
If you are aware of any brother who passes because of the virus or loses a parent, spouse or child, please email the particulars, including, if possible, an obituary link to APD Cares by clicking here.
