Alpha Phi Delta Foundation
|
Last year we established an Alpha Phi Delta Scholarship for all of our deceased Beta Lambda brothers. We would like to continue to fund this new scholarship over the next several years. The balance in this fund as of February 28, 2021 was $1,705. Once this fund reaches $10,000, a scholarship of at least $500 will be awarded every year at the National Convention in August.
The Beta Lambda - Dr. Albert Zanzuccki Scholarship reached over $20,000 by June 30,2019 and increased that scholarship to $1,000 annually from then on. As of February 28, 2021, $24,590 has been contributed to this fund. Through the generosity of many of our Beta Lambda brothers, we were able to award Doc Zan scholarships of $500 at the 2016, 2017, and 2018 APD conventions and $1,000 at the 2019 convention and in 2020. We have a great group of undergraduate brothers.
At the 2019 convention, five Beta Lambda brothers were awarded Scholarships, one of which was the $1,000 Dr. Zanzuccki Scholarship. Also, the chapter came in second in the voting for the best chapter in the fraternity.
We also wanted to let you know of a new fund established in the last few years. APD Cares gives from $500 to $5,000 to a brother or his immediate family that has been a victim of a major tragedy. The Foundation's has decided to support brothers impacted by COVID-19. The fund has paid out over $15K in grants to date to brothers or their immediate family who have passed away from Covid-19. This fund has over $50k in donations to APD Cares since the program started 3 years ago, and over $35k of it has been donated since we started the Covid-19 solicitation program.
Let's honor all of our deceased Beta Lambda brothers and contribute in one of the following ways! No contribution is too small.
